White River RSWMD to Host Project Wet, Wild & Learning Tree Teacher Workshop

 Area teachers have an opportunity receive training, materials and professional development hours from three nationally recognized environmental education programs on August 4th in Batesville.        Project Wet, Project Wild and Project Learning Tree are being offered in a combined, day-long workshop hosted by the White River Regional Solid Waste Management District.  The workshop is   provided free to classroom educators and is eligible for eight developmental hours through the Arkansas Department of Education.

The workshop will be conducted at the White RiverRegionalServicesCenter, 1652 White Drive in Batesville on Wednesday, August 4th, from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.  Attendees should wear    comfortable, outdoor appropriate clothing and shoes as some exercises will be outside.  Lunch will be provided at no cost. 

Wet, Wild and Learning Tree participants will receive detailed lesson guides from each program that include interdisciplinary activities correlated to state and national education frameworks adaptable for grades K-12.  Hands on workshop activities demonstrate how to teach curriculum in the classroom.  To learn more about the workshop curriculum, visit www.agfc.com/education-class/programs.aspx, www.plt.org, and www.projectwet.org/.
