Solid Waste Operator Apprentice (Level A) Classes Scheduled in August

The White River Regional Solid Waste Management District is hosting a three day solid waste operator apprentice class in Batesville, Tuesday through Thursday, August 23, 24, and 25, 2022. This class will fulfill the required twenty (20) hours of classroom training necessary to take the test for the State’s apprentice license. The license test will be given immediately after the classroom instruction is completed on Thursday, august, 25th.

The class will be held in the White River Regional Services Center, 1652 White Drive (Highway 25 North next to the National Guard Armory), in Batesville and will start at 8:30 a.m. each day.   The cost for the class is $175.00, payable to the Arkansas Environmental Training Academy (see attached form).

The Arkansas Environmental Academy has requested that you register through them.  Each person taking the training must complete a copy of the enclosed AETA registration form and fax it to the Academy (SAU Tech) at (870) 574-4565 or register on line at You may also call Kassondra Ivie at 870-574-4550. They will invoice you prior to the class.

To be eligible to take the license test at the end of the class, students must also complete and submit an Application for Solid Waste Operator License (copy enclosed). If students wish to apply online please email the completed application to Jennifer Parslow, then call her (501) 682-0860 to pay a $50.00 application fee. To mail the application and the $50.00 prepaid application fee payable to the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality prior to taking the class.  Mailing instructions are given on the enclosed ADEQ form.  The application and check should be received at ADEQ in Little Rock by July 30th.
