You dump it, you drink it! Over 80% of waterways tested in the United States show traces of medications in them (Teleosis Institute, 2008). Compounding this problem is the difficulty and added cost of removal of pharmaceuticals from our public water supplies.

Flushing drugs into your waste water system can affect area water supplies, surface water systems, and the humans and animals who are the eventual users of that water.
